Flounder used to be quite common for east coast fish fries. HoJo’s used it for their AYCE Wed Nite Fish Fry dinner back in the 60’s when I was working at one of their stores in Mass. Since then other species have taken the lead in ‘mass-production’.  
    Stuffed Flounder is still a standard menu item at most good seafood resturants, but you don’t see fried filets as much any more.
