I insist on plastic bags for my groceries and paper bags for my wine. I use the paper bags for recycling my newspapers each week, and I use the plastic bags for — well, I don’t use them for anything at all. But I’ll be damned if I’ll do anything of which the green nuts might approve.
Hint: Paper bags are made from paper that is made from the pulp of trees planted specifically for making paper. No forests are destroyed to make paper.
Sorry,Michael. but that is not true at all. Less than 20% of wood used for paper pulp is made from trees specifically grown for the process. Much of the wood used at the Nippon paper plant in Port Angeles,WA is actually old growth timber.
