I insist on plastic bags for my groceries and paper bags for my wine. I use the paper bags for recycling my newspapers each week, and I use the plastic bags for — well, I don’t use them for anything at all. But I’ll be damned if I’ll do anything of which the green nuts might approve.
Hint: Paper bags are made from paper that is made from the pulp of trees planted specifically for making paper. No forests are destroyed to make paper.
Paper bags use a lot of energy and water to make and dispose of or recycle. I am no tree hugger, but why so resistant to using a cloth bag that can be used again and again? Mine must be close to 5 years old.
Spite seems like a rather lame reason to be so wasteful.
Spite does not enter into it. As someone who sees the econuts for what they are I’m opposed to those who are spiteful.
