Try a used bookstore or even Amazon for older versions of cookbooks like BC or BH&G. Both of these cookbooks have evolved over the years. The cookbooks copyrighted 1950 and 1970 are different, and the ones published today are very different. I am not saying which is better, that is subjective. The older versions are available, though, and a used bookstore is fun to visit. You can leave with a lot of books for not much money.
