I can help, I write websites but I’m not farmilliar with the Mac webite creator.
I use Front page and expression web.
 
You can use a free plugin for your guestbook, just make sure comments are moderated and they have CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart) i.e. distorted image with letters and numbers you enter in a box to pass validation.
 
They have these free plugins for Pic galleries and events calandars too, You just have to make sure your web server supports the technologies (i.e. PHP, ASP, ETC.) – Most web hosting companies offer this technology for free in your hosting plan.
 
I wrote pochesmarket, crawfishtownusa, cajunpalms and gatorspyshop. (Cant make links yet – just add dot com) I’m in the process of writing one for my future high tech hot dog cart, Ill let you guys/gals know when its done.
