On the other hand, manufactuers aren’t stupid. The industry fully knows that popular opinion aside, most people prefer saltier products and conflate better flavor with a saltier product despite claiming the opposite. Higher salt concentration also promotes eating more..(potato chip effect).
Thanks, I forgot about that little detail. For example, low-sugar ice cream tends to have more fat, low-fat ice cream tends to have more sugar. When manufacturers have to cut back on one addictive, they usually compensate by increasing the amount of others. I personally try to stay away from high fructose corn syrup, but that’s because there’s a strong suspicion of it contributing to insulin intolerance (although human testing has yet to be done), and I figure I’ll play it safe. I keep my sugar intake down in in any case.
