The very first flavor of ice cream that I remember tasting is black raspberry – even before vanilla or chocolate. It remains my favorite of all time, but some of the from-the-food-store versions are sad. I also love anything with caramel in it.
In summertime, it’s all about custard from a custard stand, and water ice (I like cherry and lemon; my other half goes for more exotic flavors like mango). We do not like Rita’s! As far as custard, I’ll take vanilla and orange swirl over anything.
