Worst of all, my father gave me a gift subscription to “The Week” magazine. I love the magazine, but by virtue of being on their mailing list, I’m now on the Republicans’ mailing list, and am being bombarded with solicitations from people like Tim Pawlenty, the RNC, etc. 
 

Seriously???  I’ve subscribed to The Week for years, and have never received so much as ONE piece of mail from anyone remotely resembling conservative.  If you read the editorial every week, you should know how incredibly liberal the people who run that publication are.  Methinks the blame lies somewhere else.

My favourite is the local insurance agencies for various national companies who keep sending me solicitations for my auto insurance.  I wrecked my car almost exactly a year ago in an accident that was not only my fault, but got my license suspended.  Which means until I pay the state $2,000.00 I cannot have it back.  Yet at least once a week I get a letter in the mail offering to sell me auto insurance at a much cheaper rate than I’m paying.  I called one yesterday to find out exactly how much cheaper than “nothing” their insurance would be.  They offered to remove me from their mailing list.
