We use Hormel No Beans, usually from Wal-Mart since it’s the cheapest ($1.78 for 15 oz).  We were buying from Sam’s Clubs while in NC by the 6 pack, but they don’t stock it here.  Hormel has a good texture and is a good mild tasting base to start from.  We “fix” the chili with additional stuff to compliment the taste of our hot dogs we serve. It works for us. And I don’t have to make chili from scratch. I’m supposed to be semi retired and we keep expanding and adding stuff to our menu.
