I remember a hammer, but it seems to me it came with some sort of hard licorice.
 
I lived for English Toffee in the olden days.  The California Brittle was the first piece eaten out of the See’s box.  Bite the chocolate coating off with my front teeth and then eat the middle.
 
I’ve grown up, though.  I now go for the marzipan first.
