If you ever want a good read on the history of the Milton Hershey, Forrest Mars and their respective companies, check out “Emperors of Chocolate” by Joel Glenn Brenner.  A real insight into how these two companies started and the very “interesting” people who ran them.  And if you want to know about the smaller companies and how the market works for the Davids vs. the Goliaths, Annabelle, Palmer, Necco, etc…, Steve Almond’s “Candyfreak” is pretty hilarious, sad and informative.
