I bought an envelope of McCormick french onion dip mix from a widely known chain sometime referred to as wally world. Later the same day I was picking up some specials at another store and just happened to be walking down the aisle where the dry mixes were sold. Lo and behold I spotted a big sign on the shelf advising there was a recall on the dip mix I bought at WW, it also listed a few other McCormick products and said the recall was due to possible salmonella contamination. When I got home I looked it up on the Internet and saw where the recall was issued on March 5th, 2010 or 8 days prior to my purchasing the product. I am pretty upset about this. This is something I consider quite serious. I am not usually the type of person that will initialize a confrontation but in this case I want to talk to the store manager and also call the district manager. Maybe I should get in touch with local newspaper. What’s everyone’s opinion on this.
