last time i checked the Hmongs in California are growing LOTS of strawberries—and good ones too! They really had an impact on the market—they took over the local fresh market –filling farmers markets with lots of cheap berries. i would imagine that that had not changed much and that would mean more of the berries grown by long time commercial growers being shipped east.
