I always thought Stripes was a jailhouse movie.

I guess that depends on your opinion of the Army – Bill Murray’s character regarded it as such for a while.
I saw this one first-run, and was surprised to see an Army info stand in the lobby/mall theater corridor. Don’t know what kind of recruits they’d get from that movie…
