If you have time take I 40 E 15 miles to Black Mountain, NC and visit this very nice small town.  There are several very fine restaurants there including Black Mountain Bistro, The Black Bird Restaurant, Morning Glory Cafe and Veranda Cafe.  It is a nice town to visit.
 
In Asheville you should go to Admiral, Tupelo Honey, Moose Cafe and Early Girl Eatery.  Have a nice trip.
