I use one of these upright as an extra freshwater container for my fixed trailer. I think the previously mentioned issues of weight and structural support are good considerations. Also, I would think the fact that it is a cylinder makes it rather inefficient spatially when you compare it to a rectangular tank.
Another issue might be that when using the existing holes for plumbing, you might not be able to completely drain it as you would an actual greywater tank. This could lead to buildup of funk that will cause flow issues down the road.
I can get them next to nothing as well. But I think for what you might save in $ compared to a real greywater tank, you might have more trouble down the road than you originally perceive.
