The patriarch of the family is Phil Robertson who played football for Louisiana Tech. He was the starting QB ahead of Terry Bradshaw. Phil was offered a chance to play pro ball but because football was played during duck hunting season he turned them down. Phil started the Company, but it was Willie who made it into a multi-million dollar company.
