Wintem,
You need to read a bit more. These previous posts (and others on this site) address working in the later fall and winter. Whether or not you should open is up to you. You do need to understand that there will be slow days and possibly weeks. Do you have everything lined up? What all do you have to do before you can set up and sell your first dog? We can’t tell you any of that. Do you have any weekend events lined up? You don’t necessarily have to have them lined up months in advance. We have a recurring auction that we do. So this month we have two to do, plus we did an event for Halloween and Yesterday we picked up one more for this month. that means as of today, we have 5 weekends in a row for events (and possibly one in Dec). Prior to this run, we had three weekends we didn’t work event (but did work on the cart) and worked the previous three weekends. We also work the street but not on Mondays that we work Saturday event and when the weather channels says we will be having dust storms and 70 mph winds all day (didn’t start blowing until 6PM… David could have worked!). Since this job depends on fairly decent weather, it is always a hit-or-miss proposition. I don’t know what Ohio winters are like… or what New Mexico winters are like for that matter. All I know is that we will be here until next summer… I think… That may change. Just gotta roll with the flow! In my case, that’s literally![woot] (David & I have a severe case of traveling toes)
