I got a very early start, well before daylight, on the morning of the 16th so that I could meet up with Louis Hatchett in his hometown of Henderson KY by mid-afternoon, yet still have plenty of time to stop and take pictures enroute. Originally I was going to take US 41 south to Evansville IN, which is right across the Ohio River from Henderson, but the night before departure I decided to take Illinois Hwy. 1 down to western KY as it provided more in the way of scenic photo opportunities, along with a chance to visit a Roadfood-reviewed restaurant in Marion KY.
