When a 4th grader (many moons past), our class toured the McDonald’s Nursery in Hampton, VA. At the end of the tour, each child was handed a small blooming colorful Lantana plant. To this day, I think it got me interested in planting flowers.

In the ’80’s, I toured the Seltzer’s Lebanon Bologna Factory in Palmyra, PA. Now, that was very interesting watching the link sausages being filled and then going out to the tall skinny smokehouses. The aromas were fantastic and the finished products were plentiful for sampling. I wonder how the tour compares now. I purchase the sweet Lebanon Bologna now in presliced packages in (where else) super Walmart. Hey, I ain’t complaining!
