Drakes has had a presence in the Florida Panhandle for about 15 years, though never the full selection that my friends from NJ grew up with.

I loved Ho-Ho’s and when I moved from NE Ohio 30 years ago my Mom would mail them to me. Hostess products finally showed up here about 10 years after I did and I was thrilled at the prospect of Ho-Ho’s whenever I wanted them … but they had changed. The cake was thin and dry and the choco coating had a plastic quality to it. Oh well.

I’ve never tried Yodels but I’ll look to see if they’re available and give them a try.
