Oh yeah, California is awful with their laws and rules.
We in the hearth industry (yes, I’ve been in the biz for over 20 years) are now in the process of fighting a no burn proposal. They want to outlaw wood burning fireplaces, stoves and soon after that charcoal grills.
I live at the beach and it does get cold.
This year it was cold for at least 5 weeks.
My shop is "in The Valley" and it services areas that get even colder.
People here are just learning that they can heat a house with a stove.
I love the idea of the corn stoves. Pellets are interesting too, but we don’t have a good source. You also have to have a back up source for power because if the power goes out… so does the electrically controlled hopper on your pellet stove.
The distributors of stoves control the market. They are territory controlled. If you don’t see what you like in your area… look outside of it.
Don’t settle…. shop!
