Smoke House Blues is pretty good if you like tomato based BBQ sauce on your que. I also like their smoked turkey. Also on Washtenaw in Ypsi I really like Tios for Mexican. There is a branch downtown, but it’s hard to park. The one on Wastenaw in Ypsi has a much larger parking lot and dining space.
The Pizza House and Brown Jug are both good for late night eats, Pizza House is open until 4 AM, and Brown Jug is open until 2 AM. (downtown Ann Arbor)
For breakfast I love Harvest Moon at 23 and 12 for French Toast and the Western Skillet. (used to be Chesey’s) On the other side of 23, Americana Coney Island is also good for breakfast and Chicken Lemon Rice Soup.
I was not impressed with Zingerman’s Roadhouse, but I love the original sandwich shop. Ahmo’s Deli has good Gyros and sandwiches.
I think the best Chinese Lunch buffet is at Emerald City also on Washtenaw (buffet is only at lunch, full menu for dinner)
Creekside Grill & Bar on Jackson Road has some good choices and a fairly extensive menu.
Sorry you’re visiting our fair city to go to the hospital, but I hope you are able to enjoy some fine dining while you are here.
