Check out the pics from ellen4641’s NYC/Brooklyn Pizza tour. Her posting is a few below yours on this forum. You’ll get some good ides from it. I Haven’t been to DiFara’s yet. I’m a huge fan of Totonno’s in Coney Island. I’ve never had sauce so fresh or crust so crispy and chewy. Lombardi’s on Spring Street makes a pretty decent pie too. I love adrienne’s pizzabar on Stone Street in the Financial District. There’s a review for it here on Roadfood. For some good slices, check out Ray’s on Prince St and Bleecker St Pizza.
Not sure exactly what you’re looking for in terms of "thick crust". Could you be more specific? Thick like Chicago style? NY style only with a slightly thicker crust?
