Davvyd: The chicken fried steak is from the south but mostly found in Texas. The South as I know it is southern friend chicken, chicken gravy, fried Okra, southern green beans, catfish, southern cornbread, and other veggies from this area. In adddition the NOLA food add to the addition.
Mamaw Smith also prepares her country fried steak which is fried, then oven baked at 225 for about five hours. The gravy and her mash potatoes are super.
In my opinion, the diversity of southern food outweights any other place in the USA.
