If you find a good car club to run the event it will work 3 times a year, that is and still draw crowds. Do it more often and you’ll only get a handful of car enthusiast that want to hang around with like minded friends. But promotions are easy to come up with and you should have one every 3rd weekend. Look at the festivals that work well in other cities. Hold a Greatest Steak Cooking Contest Hold a BBQ contest. Have a grill manufacture get involved with both. Get a local grill distributor involved. But don t run these two in the same month, one should be in the spring the other in the fall. Do a tailgating event with a state sports favorite team. All of these need specific written rules, so they become competition and all prepared food goes to the judges, so only your food is available for consumption. Find a radio station that will cosponsor the events so you buy a small promotional schedule and they give you the rest free. Just some thoughts from a guy that s spent 20+ years in Radio & TV.
