They used to hold the New York State School Music Association conference at The Concord Hotel and Resort in Kiamesha Lake. Good times. Definately a throw back, but even so, it looked in better shape than Kutcher’s.
They no longer hold the conference there (and I’m no longer in NY) but it was a good time.

Incidently, someone mentioned Dirty Dancing. Funny thing, is that even in 1986 when they shot the movie (Sept-Oct), the Catskill resorts had lost their luster. The grounds of the main resort for the film were shot at Mountain Lake Hotel near Blacksburg, VA and the dance sequences, staff quarters and ballroom scenes were film at a youth camp on Lake Lure, NC (which is now a private residence and the staff quarters are all torn down).

I’m heading to a wedding at Mountain Lake in VA this coming weekend.
