i guess, since the whole northeast coast area hasn’t interested me much due to where my family is from, that i have been lax in my studies. the jamestown/plymouth rock thing did however rear it’s head again in the late 1750’s and became a large part of the conflict in the 1860’s.
i guess i am just proud that i am a wasp. came from good stock that the brits didn’t want. they got here and ran way off the coast and found an indian group that got run out of ohio and what the heck they made it!!!!
now my wife on the other hand qualifies for the DAR even though she is a mick (opps sorry not p.c. there is it??)!!! and her ancestors came from france and whipped the brits since on her father’s side she is descended from the Planagenet’s!!!!!!!
gotta love the usa. what a group of mongrel dogs (and i mean that in the best sense) we are!!!!!!
ps. even my beloved retired greyhound moose is a mongrel. he is directly descended from king cobb. this dog was a greyhound/english bulldog mix. that mix increased greyhounds speed by several seconds over the purebreeds[:D]
