abe froeman and I are trying to clear our very busy schedules. We’ll let you know ASAP. Even if we go, we probably won’t be able to do the whole route–I’ve got to be at Burt’s Place by 4:30.
P.S. Not to question the master but, is Portillo’s, a chain (albeit a very good chain), really the best use of our time and caloric intake? Based on our (abe’s and my) limited time frame, I would either skip Portillo’s or add another Mom & Pop type spot.
In fact, geographically it would make waaaaay more sense to start with fRedhots (being the furthest west), travel east to, and then south on Skokie Boulevard to Portillo’s (if we must), continue south to Dempster, then east to Poochie’s, and further east to visit Gus at The Weiner and Still Champion. Finally, you could either take the scenic route along Green Bay up to the two Highland Park stores or head back to I-94 and take that north.
Just a thought.
