OK…good start. Be sure to get those plane reservations and the car rental set SOON. Also–specific dates. We have specific "likes" about lodging, but that’s a personal thing. With a route I could offer some suggestions…or at least places to avoid. If Memorial Day is in the picture that could already be tricky.
Glacier is a great park to visit, and you could probably fit it into the time constraints, but this may not be the year for it. 2 reasons….the Going to the Sun road (THE road through the park) usually doesn’t open until mid to late June because of plowing, so you may be a bit early. You could check the "edge" of the park, but it’s just not the same. Also…bad storms last fall did quite of lot of damage to the roadway, and I’m not sure what the state of repair work will be. If you decide to try getting up there I will check will a friend who lives near the park (Kalispel) and see what he knows.
So..as far as your trip. Besides eating , what are your interests? Do you like to get out and walk or hike, see historic sites, do tourist "kitchy" stuff, or whatever? There are so many things to do and see…one could spend a lifetime and miss much of it.
I also wonder if someone would want this thread moved to another area on the forum (maybe the "off-topic and lighter fare part" )if discussion gets too much away from food…although we’ve got a lot of suggestions for that, too!
