Once again, I must agree with Y’stone. Big area! I’ve always found wonderful roadfood on all my trips in that part of our country. One suggestion, Miles City Montana has been very rewarding to me on two motorcycle adventures. On my first stop, I lucked into a very friendly and clean motel off of the Interstate going north, maybe half a mile, on the right. Clean looking, painted white for the most part, I stopped and spent the night. Got one of the best steaks I’ve ever enjoyed just up the street, about 3 doors away. Also topped it off with a luscious piece of sourcream raisin pie, price was very reasonable. You see, when I was "ridin", I NEVER hit the hooch on the road, henceforth, I always looked for a place to park my Cruiser and sleep, with a decent looking roadfood joint within walking distance. My plan was to have a couple snorts of the scotch accompanying me, have dinner, back to the room, sleep like a baby, hit the road the next day!
I found Miles City to be a welcoming town. Had a small problem with my Cruiser, went into a dealership for help, they took care of my problem immediately. The charge, "it’s on us, have a good trip".
There is a WONDERFUL museum of western history(pioneering, ranching, cowboying) in Miles City, if you’re into such a thing. Me, I am. I spent half a day in the place.
Hope that explains why I made two stops in Miles City and recommend a visit to their town.
