Here’s one that shouldn’t offend anyone’s sensibilities (and I get where you’re coming from, South Hillbilly.) It comes under the "Oldie But Goodie" category, but I find it funny.
I worked at a Denny’s during two summers when I was home from college. One time, I heard yelling in the kitchen. I went in there, and a guy who’d started working there that very day was upset and had been the one yelling. The manager was doing her best to scold the head cook, who was smirking. Seems he’d sent the new guy on an emergency mission to "go get me a kettle of steam." I like to think I wouldn’t have fallen for it. It’s like ball players telling the bat boy to get a bat stretcher.
I’ll add that, in two summers, I honestly never heard of anything more offensive being put into the food at my Denny’s beyond the food itself. That was probably punishment enough.
