Anywhere we can reasonably drive to, we do. If we fly, the best deal for us is a 2hour drive to Philly to get out. We can leave from the Scranton/WB airport, but the price goes up considerably. So we drive 2 hours, plus of course, we need to be 2 hours early at the airport, so that’s 4 hours. Then the flight, and then whatever needs to be done at the end of the trip. In the days gone by..at this point, far by…my favorite airline was Mohawk. It served Upstate NY, and ran from Chicago to Boston and everywhere in between. Mohawk got bought up by Allegheny in the early 70’s, and then of course as Allegheny bought and merged with other airlines turned into it’s current form
USeless AIR. When we travel by plane it tends to be to the south either Florida or New Orleans. We have been on different lines, and it seems at least for now USeless AIR does the best. Now that’s not saying much, it just seems to work the best for us. I don’t think any of the companies are any good. They treat their pilots and attendants like crap, and have no interest in their passengers. I have always thought it interesting that the airlines are always crying poverty, yet virtually every plane we are on is packed to the hinges. And they’re not making money? Maybe it’s that expensive bag of 3 mini-pretzels they give us!
