Just got out of the house garden, picked 12 Early Girls and one Big Boy, and some green onions. I am going to make some sauce for penne pasta for dinner. Although I did cheat on the family, they are not home yet and I had a tomato and onion sandwich on the obligitory white bread with a heavy dose of Best Mayo on both sides of bread, and salt and pepper. Ate it in the garden as it is drippy, and it hides the evidence.
I never chill tomatoes, well except for when the go into the root cellar at the end of the season. It is not really cold, however it maintains a constant 45 – 50 degree temperature. Unless of course it hits minus 10. I ENJOYED MY SAMMY SNACK
