Joann, I have to wonder where you got that sense of negativity toward non-posters! What I got – and I heartily would have agreed if I had been able to go – was a great sense of disappointment because so many of the attendees were not involved here and I think the poster(s) had hoped to meet more folks from this community. I think for those of us who are fairly involved here that is a fair wish. After all, the announcement of the event came from this website, so those who only read the Sterns’ books would not have accessed it another way.
It doesn’t mean they don’t want non-posting folks to go, it just means that they wanted to meet a lot more of the very very nice people who hang around these forums a lot. (In fact one reason I’d agree about really wanting to meet more RF forum folks is because I have enjoyed every person I have met through Roadfood forums, they have all been warm & wonderful & interesting people!!!)
Sometimes I am tempted to go back to being the non-posting kind of Stern fan. Especially as I feel the reviews have been changing (for the worse, IMHO only)… and certain ways I used to use this site I can’t do any more. (Granted there are improvements too, like the maps.)
Anyway my point is that I see no reason in any of these posts for anyone to take offense. Enjoy the ride and the fact you were able to attend a great event! I wish I could have. [:)]
