I thought that this might be about the small chain, “Wayback Burgers”. The place that it is actually about looks better! (even if it wasn’t as good as you had hoped). It is sad to say that McDonalds makes a better burger than a lot of RF type places. The ones that I make on my grill this weekend, with frozen WalMart, pre-made “hockey puck” meat will be better than at most places that I have tried over the last 6 months or so. Cost, as I understand it, is the problem. Margins are thin, and the temptation is always there to use meat that is cheaper and “almost as good”, and buns that still have a little life left in them. Another problem is that most places are afraid to under cook. I now order mine, “as rare as possible”, knowing that they will come out at my preferred “medium”.
