I certainly approve of Smoque as being the best in Illinois, although I haven’t tried every one in Illinois.

I love the choice in North Carolina, Allen and Son, but boy, as he says, there are a lot of great barbecue places in that state. Grady’s in Dudley, Lexington No. 1 in Lexington, Original Little Richard’s in Winston-Salem, Jack Cobb and Son in Farmville are among my favorites, and there are so many other good ones I’ve been to.
