I dunno…with the opening of smaller, select chain "Sendik’s", here in the Milwaukee area, and the anticipated opening of a Wegmann’s on Howell Ave, some large chains (not that Wegmann’s isn’t a huge box store – similar to Sam’s and Costco, but you don’t have to be a member) like Roundy’s (Pick N Save, Copp’s) are running scared. They are dropping prices and adding coupons and making all sorts of changes in order to compete.
Big Box stores are competition, like any other. I like them for certain things (selection, pricing), but I like my little "boutique" groceries like Sendik’s and Groppi’s, and V. Richard’s (which are both actually a part of Sendik’s) too.
