I don’t do Valentine’s Day, never have whether I’m seeing someone or not. It’s always seemed dumb to me that one day a year someone is supposed to buy overpriced flowers, chocolates, and jewelry and say how much they love each other. Why can’t you just do it randomly throughout the year? I would way rather have thoughtful little presents for no real reason at other times than overpriced marketed guilt trips. Mom usually gets me a card and maybe a candy bar, but then she’s my mom and that’s what they do.

I’m with lleechef on the flowers: A dozen roses for Valentine’s Day typically run about $60. In August, that same dozen roses is about $25.00.
