No, no, no, DO NOT go to a restaurant! (Sorry MikeS.) I lost control there for a minute. Us chefs rank Thanksgiving right up there with Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day and New Year’s Eve. That means snarky service, the kitchen is snarky, well, you get the drift.
My suggestion for T-Day for two: a turkey breast works if you’re really in the mood for turkey. Otherwise a CAPON works much better. Smaller bird, whole, good soup material, can be stuffed and just generally tasty.
Choice #2 would be Cornish rock hens stuffed with traditional stuffing or wild rice or whatever. Roasted and finished with a morel (or other wild mushroom) sauce.
