I’ve got one for you…I went to Publix Tuesday to get ONE item and a pack of smokes. I went to customer service. I could have gone to a check out line but then a bagger would have had to walk over to customer service and get my cigarettes, then I would be holding up a line, so I went straight to the source. There were 2 people in front of me, one making a purchase, the other to cash a lottery ticket. Person 1 was buying BOGO items but instead of choosing 2 of the same item she wanted to mix and match. The cashier explained to her last she must purchase "same" items. So, Person 1 opts for 2 BBQ sauce instead of 1 BBQ sauce and 1 ketchup. So we’re over that hurdle. Person one also purchases 2 newspapers. 1 was .50, the other $1.00. She pays cash for the newspapers, food stamp card for the BBQ sauce. Cashiers says to person 1: "You still owe .10". "For what?" says person 1. "Tax on the papers". "What do you mean tax?" ".03 for the .50 paper and .07 for the 1.00 paper, that’s .10." "Who says?" "The register is waiting for .10 to be tendered." "You’re cash register is WRONG!" The cashier finally just inserted her key and cleared the .10. 20 MINUTES I stood there! Yes, I suppose I could have gone to a check out but I just had to hear the outcome!.
