On the topic of marsala: my very favorite EASY recipe for a festive dessert and/or to give as a gift comes from my northern Italian grandmother:
Cut good oranges into slice.
Cover with a bit of sugar.
Pour marsala over them.
Add a few maraschino cherries.
Marinate in fridge overnight.
Enjoy!!!
