Unfortunately this would not pass in Wake County, NC.  The inspector here requires that that it covers your entire prep area. 

Actually, No sneeze guard was required in March 2009 when this passed inspection in Macon County (SW NC). The sneeze guard was our requirement, not the HD.  As for the NSF.  We spoke to our then local HD guy and he told us what he required on the cart..  It is easily cleaned and there are no seams/gaps that a credit card will slide into.  This sneeze guard also passed inspection in Corpus Christi TX.  TX inspections are much tougher than NC.  Perhaps Wake County has their own rules.  Wouldn’t be the first time Raleigh did it’s own thing.
