Both of my parents were WWII Army and we ate the chipped beef version at home a lot (don’t know if that’s what they ate back then though).
Is there a cheaper way to get that meat than in those little jelly glasses? Can’t see the military getting 55-gallon jelly glasses – or how that was a cheap way to feed a family of six for that matter.
We use to get the dried beef in #10 cans. Soak and drain in a copper then run it thru a buffalo chopper. Chow Jim
