For the most part, Bars / Taverns in Michigan still allow smoking. Bars / Restraunts with dining have smoking and non smoking areas… Alot if not most of the places that serve food only (w/sit down)are now non smoking establishments (except Denny’s)… But I see alot of it comming to an end.. There’s been a couple companys in the state that will fire you if you smoke (even if it’s off premise on your own time).. Tax’s on cigarettes here have become so outrageous it’s starting to hurt the small business’s that used to count on that extra income from sales… People are driving south to Indiana or ordering via internet. Though the state tax man has been chasing down internet purchasers and billing them for the back tax owed (I’m guessing here, but I think it’s around $2.75 tax per pack)..
