In Wisconsin, a number of cities and other municipalities have banned smoking in restaurants. Now the state legislature, in its infinite (ahem!) wisdom has decided that some of those ordinances are too restrictive and they want to pass a law statewide that tears the guts out of the local ordinances.

My own city has had a smoke-free restaurant ordinance for several years and not one restaurant has closed because of it.

Personally, I never go to bars (except for one locally that chose to be smoke-free) because I don’t care to breathe polluted air and smell like an ashtray when I get home. I’d be willing to bet that a lot of bars would find a whole new clientele if they did go smoke-free because I know a lot of people like me. [;)]
