In NY, as others have mentioned, there is no smoking in any bar or restaurant. Recently we went to Jennie’s Diner in Lancaster (actually Ronks) PA while out that way and knew before going in that they allowed smoking, but went anyway. I was REALLY embarassed when the waitress yelled at two guys who were sitting in the booth behind us for smoking when there were two kids in the next booth. They appeared to be regulars, which is why the waitress felt it was okay to give them a hard time. I knew my kids might be exposed to some smoke for the short time we were in the place, and wasn’t all that worried about it, so I felt bad that these guys had been scolded for doing what they were allowed to do! [:(]
By the way, the food at Jennie’s was very good and the smoke wasn’t a big deal!
