That is so sad that no one wants to save it. These old places can be used for public functions and bring the city monies without sacrificing them.
We have the Alabama Theatre here, it was bought by a non profit organization and public funds were raised to save it and restore it. It looks like it did back in it’s prime.
We have a Mighty Wurlitzer too. Big Bertha. They are talking about expanding and adding a new ballroom for larger events. We have live music there, plenty of business events and movies! Old movies to be exact. My grandmother can remember going to see Gone With the Wind there right after it came out and my mother has taken me every year to see it on the big screen.
