Now here’s an interesting combo; sauerkraut & cottage cheese all on the same thread.
Well about the sauerkraut part, I always cooked mine with pork ribs and sausages, maybe a smoked pork chop or two, caraway seed and white wine. Until the masked poster above suggested that I do it the Czech way…..with duck. Initially I thought, BLEECH! I like both ingredients but TOGETHER??? Well he finally persuaded me to make it. As usual, he was right, it was divine. The duck fell apart and the kraut melted in your mouth.
Now on to the cottage cheese which I can eat a carton of every day, I adore the stuff…..fat free only. I like to put a chopped tomato on top with pepper. Or pile it on a Wasa Crispbread. Or have it with a side of tuna and a tomato/cucumber salad. Or chop up a couple of pepperonccini or hot cherry peppers and put them on top.
