I love the East Coast hard Italian salami’s that Tenuta’s, our big Italian grocery in SE Wisconsin carries. I confess to never having paid attention to the names, just what looked good. Topped with a thin slice of a nutty semi-hard provolone and sandwiched in some crusty sesame seed covered Italian bread, I’m in hog heaven. When its been some time since the last one, a two inch Porterhouse can’t top it. I prefer my soft Jewish salami’s cubed and fried in a hoppel poppel. There are some Eastern European deli’s around that have some dried cured sausages but I have no idea if they are salami or some other cured sausage but when they are heavy in the garlic, they are great too!
Michael, I had a diet Dr. Brown root beer at Jake’s to go with my pastrami the other Saturday and it might have been the best diet root beer I’ve ever sipped; good stuff.
